annual holiday party

Upholding a great tradition, OSSC will suspend the normal presentation-oriented format for our December meeting and instead hold our r Annual Holiday Party. As usual, this will be a "pot luck" affair, with everyone bringing 8-10 portions of their favorite holiday specialty, be it appetizer, main dish, side dish, salad, or dessert. In addition to bringing food, all attendees are encouraged to participate in the "Holiday Gift Exchange Game" by bringing a wrapped gift of approximately $10-$15 in value. (The rules of the game will be reviewed at the meeting.) And for those members wishing to give back to the community during this holiday season, we will again be collecting unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots campaign. We have been advised that toys appropriate for teens are especially welcome. We will also be collecting cans and packages of food for those who are less fortunate. Members are encouraged to show their holiday spirit and creativity by bringing a holiday-themed presentation of orchids. This meeting will also be the occasion for the membership to elect the officers and board members for the upcoming term. We are looking forward to a lot of fun and holiday cheer at this great social event, and hope all members can join us!
