2001 east west orchid show
OSSC's display at the 2001
East West Orchid Show,
held at the New
Otani Hotel & Garden in the Little Tokyo section of downtown Los
Angeles, won an unprecedented number of awards, both for the display and the
plants therein.
The show ran from Friday, October 19 through Sunday, October 21, and
attracted thousands of orchid lovers from the Los Angeles area.
This
year's theme was "Orchid Trek", and OSSC's entry conjured up the
feeling of a South American seaport at the end of an orchid-gathering trek, with
a galleon laden with orchids and a dock full of crates bulging with more orchids
ready to ship back to the orchid houses of mid-19th Century England.
